This magnificent monkeys with a mango wood sculpture was created by top Oaxacan woodcarving artist Pedro Careño. It has a flawless, elegant form with graceful long flowing lines and curves. In pre-Columbian times monkeys were considered carriers of good luck and happiness. Pedro is a very talented young artist who is well known for his impeccable craftsmanship and the elegance of his pieces. His painting and choice of colors, are superb, resulting in an overall spectacular piece. It took months of work to create this wonderful sculpture.
