This gorgeous Day of the Dead olla was created by Javier and Gaby Martinez. It is their version of how Mata Ortiz's graveyard looks during the day. The etched skeletons and tombs are dedicated to some of the top Mata Ortiz potters that have passed away such as Nicolas Quezada, Chevo Ortiz, and Nancy Heras. As you can see, it is a festive portrayal of one of Mexico's most important celebrations, there are music and dancing, beautiful birds.
