Luis Pablo: Unique Nahual Woodcarving

Unique Nahual figure by top  Oaxacan woodcarving artist Luis  Pablo. This Leopard nahual, is ffantastic. It features a leopard-man with horns and long ears. In the ancient Mesoamerican cultures, a nahual or nagual was a guardian spirit. It was believed that each person had his own nahual. The ancient Native Americans believed the leopard was associated with healing, strength, and power.  In mythology, the leopard is a symbol of female power on earth.
