Wonderful fusion sculpture, inspired by the character Pepita of the Coco movie, created by Oaxacan woodcarving artist Saul Aragon. The sculpted figure is fluid and expressive. It's so difficult to carve a fierce facial expression without distorting the animal's face and yet Saul achieved it flawlessly. The fiery hues of the body accentuate the mythical force of the winged jaguar. Take a look at the beautifully painted wings. Magnificent!!
